Sunbilla, the village
Sunbilla is located 3 km from Doneztebe, capital of the Malerreka valley. It consists of two districts located on both sides of the Bidasoa river, joined by a beautiful medieval bridge, one of the most important landmarks of the ancient network of roads and paths of Navarre with the Atlantic and France.
Village nestled in a valley of great beauty between the imposing massif of Mendaur and the manor of Bertiz.
In the festive calendar, the carnivals, the last Sunday of January, and the Artzain eguna or Shepherd's Day, which is celebrated on May 1, stand out. The patron saint festivities are celebrated on August 11, San Tiburcio.
Another attraction of this town is the Bidasoa Greenway and the EUROVELO, cycling routes along the old route of the "Txikito Train" that linked Irún and Elizondo.

Malerreka, the valley
To the south of the Bidasoa, between the valleys of Bortziriak and Bertizarana is the beautiful and green Malerreka. This region is formed by the valleys of Santesteban and Basaburua Menor. Bathed by the Ezkurra and Ezpelura rivers that flow into the Bidasoa River, it is characterized by the beautiful houses that can be seen in all the villages, the oak and beech forests and a multitude of beautiful waterfalls.
The municipalities that make up this valley are: Beintza-Labaien, Doneztebe/Santesteban, Elgorriaga, Ituren, Zubieta, Urrotz, Oitz, Donamaria, Sunbilla, Ezkurra, Eratsun and Saldias. The largest town and the one that offers the most services such as bars, restaurants, bicycle rentals and stores is Doneztebe/Santesteban.
Irrisarri Land Adventure Park
IrriSarri Land is an adventure park located in Igantzi, covering 75 hectares, in the Cinco Villas region of Baztan-Bidasoa, and just 15 minutes from our rural guesthouse. Special prices for guests of Olatuenea are available.
Navarra Aventura Adventure Park
A fully renovated tree park located in the Narbarte district with the latest security technologies. In addition to arborism activities, the park offers the possibility to practice paintball.
Urdazubi Caves
35 minutes from Olatuenea. Hidden under the green meadows in the Pyrenean town of Urdazubi Urdax, and a few kilometers from the coast and the border with France. A universe of stalactites and stalagmites. Characters of legend, guerrillas and smugglers occupied them in other times.
Zugarramurdi Caves
35 minutes from our rural house. This impressive superficial karst complex is the scenario where legend places the celebration of the akelarres, the ritual festivities that the Inquisition judged as a demonic cult at the beginning of the 17th century.
Leurtza Reservoir
Beautiful place 15kms from Olatuenea. The environment of the reservoirs is characterized by the sheet of water and the forest and meadows that reach the shore. It is a green and fresh place, habitat of animals and plants that need abundant humidity. It is a Natural Recreational Area with an extension of 381.5 hectares.
Hondarribia
Only 30 minutes from Olatuenea. Let yourself be carried away by the city, stroll and enjoy its streets and its people.
